A few points to consider when comparing TulsaConnect DSL to Cox HSI:
- Affordable. TulsaConnect's DSL packages start at $35.00/month vs. $39.95/month for Cox HSI ($49.95/month if you are not a Cox Cable subscriber, e.g. you have satellite TV service).
- Choice. With cable modem service, you are given a choice of one ISP - Cox HSI. With DSL, you have a choice of ISPs (TulsaConnect being one of those choices). This gives you more flexibility in choosing the speed, price, and account features that best suit your needs.
- Availability. TulsaConnect DSL is available in much of the 918 area code, including metro Tulsa and Broken Arrow. Unlike cable, TulsaConnect DSL is readily available to businesses over existing wiring.
- Reliable. DSL is based on proven technology that takes advantage of your existing phone lines. How many times has your cable gone out, but you still have dial tone?
- Dedicated. Your bandwidth is dedicated to you -- it is not shared among everyone in your neighborhood (or "cable node"). We recognize that every Internet connection is shared at some point down the line, but DSL eliminates the "my neighbor is taking all of my bandwidth!" dilemma.
- Latency. A fancy way of saying "the time it takes your data to pass between you and us", TulsaConnect DSL typically has lower "ping times" than Cox HSI - an important consideration for online game players.
- Static IPs. TulsaConnect provides up to 3 "static" IPs with every DSL account, which allows you to hook up 3 computers in your home at no extra charge (additional machines can be added via a DSL router). With cable, you are issued a single, "dynamic" IP, and additional IPs are an additional monthly fee.
- Unmetered Access. Unlike Cox HSI, TulsaConnect does not measure or meter the amount of traffic you use on your DSL line. The current bandwidth restrictions on cable modem users are 2GB of download transfer per day and/or 30GB per month. While this may seem like a lot, content geared towards broadband users can quickly reach this limit. Who wants to try and keep track of how much data you transfer each day? Not us.
Great! Take me back to the previous page.
